As I had mentioned here I had gone tea shopping with a friend.It was my first time ever picking tea. No one in my family other than my grandparents drink tea and my grandparents drink tea Indian style -with milk, sugar,cardamom and good old tata tea.
I wanted to pick teas which were healthy,anti-oxidant rich and not too heavy in flavour.
My tea shopping experience-
Teavana generally has a couple of different teas brewed which you can try-I tried all 4 of the brewed samples and really liked the berry ones.Based on that the SA made me whiff a billion (slight exaggeration here) different teas from the giant round tea containers from the tea wall.The way I picked teas was as follows-The SA would open the round canisters one by one based on what she thought I would like- I would take a deep breath and inhale the tea. According to the SA if I liked the smell of the tea,I would also like the taste of the tea once its was brewed.The containers are different colors to show the different kinds of tea-roobios,black,herbal etc.

Since I wanted caffeine free tea’s-a lot of the tea’s I smelt, were fruit and berry mixes.Depending on the tea blends you pick, the tea can cost anywhere between $6.80 to $15 for 2 ounces.2 ounces of tea last me about a week to a week and half.The SA recommended I use 1 to 1 1/2 tbsp of tea to steep in 8 ounces (236 ml) of water but I use a little under 1 tbsp since I am still getting used to drinking tea.

In store you can also pick up German rock sugar, tea brewing jars and the teavana air tight tea container to store your tea.
Since it was my first time I picked up a tea from all the different categories.Right now I am drinking the strawberry lemonade tea-Its light fruity and the a great way to kick-start your day.
